Phil Lichtenfels
Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff
Phil Lichtenfels is Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Office of the CEO. Prior to his promotion into this position, Lichtenfels was Vice President and Director of Corporate Strategy and the Business Consulting Group. He joined the Company in 1996 as Vice President and Director of Leadership Development.
His experience immediately prior to Brown-Forman included 10 years in a variety of divisional and corporate HR roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb. His other professional experience included several years of organizational consulting as a partner in a private consulting firm, as well as several years working for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation right after graduate school.
Lichtenfels earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Penn State University. He subsequently earned Master of Science and PhD degrees in psychology from Bowling Green State University, in northwest Ohio.
He and his family reside in Louisville.
